To commemorate the 102nd anniversary of the sinking of the RMS TITANIC, I decided to draw the moment when I first discovered about the tragic event that happened so many years ago.
I was in the third grade in 2000. I was walking around in the library of my elementary school when I came across a book called “Polar the Titanic Bear”. Something about the book struck a chord in me about a little boy and his stuffed toy polar bear and their trip on the TITANIC. I wanted to know more about this ship and the people onboard and what happened to them. From there, I would read every TITANIC book I could find.
The stories about TITANIC has touched my life and in some way has touched yours as well. It’s what inspired me to be an artist and to be a little historian about this famous liner. The passion still grows in me and will continue to do so for years to come.
To all the passengers and crew, may you all rest in peace.
